Meet Louie...
I'm going to go against my personal policy to never gripe about weather and come right out and say it: Winter has overstayed its welcome. It's been SO cold this year, and the snow... it just doesn't end! I just heard there's more on the horizon, and I'm not sure where I'm going to put it when it comes.
It's always nice to find fun little things to break up the months after the new year in Minnesota, when we're awaiting greener days. Watching/photographing these kids meet their new puppy was on that list for me! When Michelle, (the mom) called to ask if I'd be interested in the job, I was over the moon. Not only do I LOVE PUPPIES (Especially Doodles, since I have one of my own!) but I've photographed all of Shane and Michelle's family milestones since their oldest son, Caden was a newborn. They're the sweetest, kindest kids, and it's been really fun for me to see them grow!
The plan that I discussed with Michelle in advance was, that I would run through my standard family shot list quickly... and then halfway through, the kids' aunt and uncle would bring in the big surprise --the puppy!
When Michelle walked up to the kids holding their new pet, they still didn't know he was theirs to keep. It was just so heartwarming to see their reactions when she told them, "This is our new puppy, guys!" The kids were overjoyed, and the puppy was full of tail wagging and kisses for the kids. I can tell he's going to be very well loved, and very well cared for.
Michelle told me later that evening that once they got home they named him Louie.
I've always said, the big brown eyes/great hair gene in this family runs strong. Louie fits right in.
