Grace
I'm making a long overdue post during this 2nd winter we're having in Minnesota. And by the way, while I'm on the subject; I'm not bitter. I knew we'd get another dumping of snow after we were fooled into believing it was spring by Mother Nature. Happens at least once every year...I count on it now.
This session happened BEFORE winter 2018-19, and when I delivered the final images to Grace's mom today, I decided it worthy of a blog post. I hadn't seen Grace since she was 10 or 11... She was a friend of my daughter's before we moved to Saint Paul. I followed her on Instagram, though, so I was pleased as punch to be asked to photograph her! I knew she had a really strong personal style with a look that reminds me of a 1940's siren --like a Hedy Lamar or an Ava Gardner, wouldn't you agree? (Maybe that explains why I'm partial to black and whites this time!)
The other fun detail is that she wanted to meet at the Walker, and I LOVE the Walker. I think the last thing I shot there was an engagement session probably 10 years ago! It's just not a place I think of often because there's not a lot of areas photographer are actually allowed inside. It didn't matter. I definitely intend to use it more often. The lighting was perfect.
And Grace was a perfect model.
Thank you for choosing me to photograph your senior session, Grace, and best of luck in whatever you choose to do!
