Kyle + Tierney
Last summer I photographed the wedding of one of the first senior boy sessions I ever captured, nearly ten years ago... This fall I will be photographing the wedding of ANOTHER one of the first senior boy sessions I ever captured! Honestly; What an honor to be asked back, especially for something as monumental in a person's life as a wedding. It's not lost on me.
I vividly remember Kyle's senior photo session. We shot in downtown Northfield, and he brought his trumpet and his very fun mom along for some additional styling. Last year Kyle's younger sister graduated, and I was flattered to be asked to do photograph her senior session, as well! I remembered Kyle as a very polite, somewhat quiet boy, but now he's a (still) polite and charismatic young man--Though no longer playing trumpet, to my disappointment!
I'm not at all surprised he was able to find someone as adorable and intelligent as Tierney for his partner through life. I realized during our scheduling process that the two of them have known each other since they were really young. Tierney emailed me a photo of them hugging as pre-schoolers, and she wanted to recreate it during their engagement shoot. (We did.)
I asked them how long they'd been dating, and when they told me 7 YEARS (!) I quickly put my foot in my mouth after saying "WOW! Some MARRIAGES don't last that long!" (Not exactly the kind of thing you want to hear from your wedding photographer, right?...oops.) I should have articulated; I think I was more surprised because the fun and patience and love between them seems so fresh and new after all that time. I don't have any doubt they're the real thing and they're made to last.
Congratulations Kyle and Tierney; Can't wait for the wedding in September!
