katherine {class of 2019}
Waaaaay back in 1998, Katherine's mom Julia and I worked together. We were partners in crime on the Southdale Dayton's visual team a few years before I'd even considered becoming a photographer. We graduated from high-school in the same year, were the same age, and for the most part, at the same place in our lives. We both bought homes in Burnsville, and THEN, in the year 2000, we both became pregnant mere weeks apart from each other.
We both had our first babies; both daughters; in the summer of 2001.
Katherine was my daughter Audrey's very first friend. I remember getting them together for play dates with regularity, from the time they were born until they were around 6 years old. But then I moved away and left my job to pursue a full time photography gig, Julia became an oral hygenist, and I'm ashamed to say that the space moved between us, and the years just got away.
Flash forward 11 years and suddenly now our daughters are young ladies, almost ready to take on the world!
I was so happy that Julia asked me to take Katherine's senior photos. I had kept up and in touch a little on social media, but I was still baffled to see Katherine looking so mature. She's turned into such a beautiful girl, inside and out.
It was great to see Julia, too. She hadn't aged a bit, and the years melted away when we met up for the photo session. We'll always have plenty in common to talk about!
