Crowned Crow
Isn't it fun when you cross paths with someone by accident that you didn't know you already had a connection with? That's what happened when I was contacted by Christine Adams about five or so years ago, to inquire about photography for her upcoming wedding. I was already booked that day; but after putting two and two together, my husband and I realized that she was someone we'd attended UW-Stout with, oh-so-many years ago. My husband was actually a friend of her and her roommate in the dorms, and since it was a small school, we all hung in a lot of the same circles.
Because I began to follow her on Facebook, I got turned on to Crowned Crow, a small business she'd began, making amazing cross-body purses out of recycled leathers, Pendleton wools, and old belts. Soon after, I had to have one of my own (which my daughter has since robbed me of...) She also makes beautiful leather cuffs and keyfobs. Her husband Carter and her have since expanded to introduce Angry Minnow, a sister company that produces retro and recycled flannels adorned with vintage patches and embellishments.
We've been talking a few years about doing a product shoot together, so I was so excited when she called me out of the blue and said they were ready! She was even kind enough to ask my daughter to come along to model some of their wares. Audrey was in 7th Heaven.
Christine and her husband have a wonderful shop on a farm in Rosemount, and have plans to renovate the barn and make it even bigger and more beautiful. (They're the beautiful couple in the first photo posted below.)
I am always so appreciative of the opportunity to do to fun and new things like this. These guys are are both such creative forces, and I can't wait to see what they do with the images.
